On October 7, 2023, the Institute of Food Biotechnology (IFB) held the Welcome Program for the 49th Freshmen Students who had just enrolled at the IFB, Can Tho University. The program was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Nhan Dung, the former Director of the IFB, the director board of the IFB, heads, deputy heads of departments, assistants, academic advisors, lecturers, and more than 400 first-year students in the courses of Biotechnology, Advanced Biotechnology, Food Technology, High Quality of Food Technology, and Post-harvest Technology.

During the program, the presenters introduced to the students the history of formation and development, facilities, organizational structure, staff and lecturers, fields of training, scientific research, international cooperation programs of the IFB, scholarships, and social grants for students. Besides, new students were also presented with learning methods, research at the undergraduate level, youth union, social and volunteer activities, and student training via extracurricular activities during the training process at the IFB, Can Tho University. In addition, the institute's leaders also reminded the students about training in ideology and ethics, daily activities, dormitory routines, lifestyle, and any possible negative impacts they may encounter.

This program is the annual activity of the IFB carried out to help students become familiar with the transition period of the learning environment and have an orientation to build suitable brilliant study and training plans for undergraduate study.
